Cerrillo Verballe Reserva Especial 2005

Christmas Special: Spanish red wine from D.O.Ca. La Rioja

Bodegas Afersa is a small family-owned enterprise which is located in San Asensio in the famous wine-growing area of La Rioja. Many generations of this family have dedicated their lives to the growing of wine.

Composition:
This ruby-red wine was produced on the base of a traditional recipe of the family Fernández-Villaro. Only the best grapes of the followin grape varieties were used for the production of this wine: 85% of Tempranillo, 10% of Garnacha and 5% of Mazuelo. Half of the grapes come from the family-owned vineyard, the other half was chosen thoroughly from other wine-growers of the region. Every year before the vintage, experts control quality and stage of maturation of every grapevine.

Tasting:
In the wine glass: Ruby-red coloured wine

Flavour: Rich of aroma, with a slight ligneous and spicy note, which derives from the storage in oak wine barrels.

Taste: This wine can be combined to different sorts of food, especially to noble sausages like smoked ham (Ibéricos) or liver pies, hard cheese, beef, veal or venison.

The Cerrillo Verballe Reserva Especial 2005 is served optimally at a temperature between 17°C and 18°C. We reccomend to decant the wine about 30 minutes before consumption and to fill it in a decanter.
